We stayed at a Vacasa property in Florida for a week. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and clearly maintained by a professional team. The issue was the heated pool we paid for wasn’t working. Vacasa has a 24/7 hotline and someone always answers right away, but the support isn’t very effective because they can’t actually contact the local team or give real updates. They only see whatever the local staff enters into the system. Vacasa did send someone out the next morning—twice—but we were never told anyone was coming, and the hotline couldn’t tell us what the technician saw or whether the issue could be fixed. It took far too long to find out the pool wouldn’t be repaired during our stay. Nice property, well stocked with things to do. We still had a great time. However, trying to get the pool heated was a challenge. The listing mentioned an additional charge for heat, but after booking we were informed that pool heat required a 3 night stay. The listing didn’t annotate that, and wasn’t in the fine print. After asking Vacasa, they agreed to heat the pool for an increased charge. That’s fine, but when I tried to pay, I was told to go to Vacasa’s website, yet there was no means to pay. Calling again I was told to pay AirBnB for the heating, which I did, but then Vacasa withheld the entry instructions until they could confirm payment. I sent receipts of payment through Airbnb, received entry instructions, but the pool wasn’t heated on arrival. The second day the heater never came in at all and was told the owner had to turn it on and nothing could be done. The morning we checked out, heat was on. Also the spa never worked the whole stay.
